Thermal cameras make perfect sense for human body detection as high temperature typically indicates a fever. However, not all thermal cameras are suitable for this application due to the requirements needed to make an accurate detection.

Thermal cameras are used in a range of applications spanning from law enforcement to home inspections. They are typically used by engineers and inspectors to diagnose potential problems in their systems, particularly in HVAC.

The advantages of using thermal cameras is that it can visualize the whole area its pointing at, rather than on a single point. This cuts down the time an inspector needs and pinpoints the locations of the potential problem. Additionally, it adds safety to inspectors by allowing them to visualize the thermal data at a distance.

In life of the advantages, the drawbacks is that the accuracy is often around 2% or 2°C, on a scale of 0-1000°C this doesn't sound much and is considered to be standard accuracy. If we look at detecting fever in human, the same cannot be said, that's because of the sensitivity of human temperature, 2°C accuracy is the difference between a healthy individual and someone with elevated temperatures.
